Practice Managerdyan stand in

Dyan Tomlinson L.V.T.

Even as a small child she had a strong love for animals. Little did she know that it would lead her to us in July of 2008. After earning her BA in Fine Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design, she soon realized she had missed her true calling and began working with animals as a licensed veterinary technician. After many years of nursing, she decided to alter her career slightly by involving herself in practice management.  She enjoys this field of work and is still able to surround herself daily with animals. Her favorite thing about veterinary medicine is the advancement of new technologies which assist in both diagnosing and treating our animal friends. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her own crazy crew which consists of two dogs, six cats, and two birds. She also loves to nurture orphaned and injured wildlife as she  believes they sometimes are the forgotten ones. Dyan also enjoys the outdoors and renovating her house, a project that never seems to end.

Technicians

Michael JenningsMike Chief Technician

Earned his Associate's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Hartford . Michael was drawn to the High Ridge Animal Hospital because of his love for small animals. He  has become, at this point, an irreplaceable part of the team. Not only does he have well over twenty years experience in the field, but he's our main IT man. Without him we would surely be lost in a sea of crashing computer systems. If Michael can't fix it, we know we're in trouble. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, softball, sking and spending time with his wife two daughters, and  his two Parrots Dylan and Mckay.

Earned her degree in Pathobiology at the University of Connecticut. She then went on to Purdue University to earn her degree in Veterinary Technology and became a licensed Veterinary Technician.  Missy specializes in teaching owners on puppy care and exotic animal husbandry and behavior.  Her favorite thing about veterinary medicine is being there for client’s pets throughout their life time.  She’s watched many of them grow up from pups.  Her family’s the top priority in her life so she spends as much time as possible with husband John and son Connor and let’s not forget her two dogs, Buddy and EllieMae, a cat Roxie, bird Ohno, and snake Babs.  In what spare time is left, she bowls and plays softball.

Karen Hurleykaren
Has followed an extremely twisted path to get to where she is now, starting as a teacher went on to a news researcher, public relations in health care, office manager in a family business, picture framer and then in February 2002 she joined HRAH, She's stated that she's enjoyed all of it and would do it all over again. You can always count on her for a warm hello and a smile when you walk in. Her favorite thing about veterinary medicine is simply meeting and greeting all of the patients on a daily basis. After having raised Doberman Pinchers for many years, she's now retired from having any of her own and spends her time with long time companion Phil and many wonderful friends.
